Steamed Palm Sugar Cake (Kuih Kosui)

STEAMED PALM SUGAR CAKE

Ingredients needed :

1. 240g of brown sugar

2.120g fine sugar

3.250ml water

4.1 sheet of pandan leaves

5.210g wheat  flour

6.2 tablespoon potato flour

7.625ml water

8. Grated coconut

9.A bit of salt

 

Here is how its prepared :

1. First, add the brown sugar, fine sugar, water and pandan leaves into the pot. Simmer until smooth and becomes sugar syrup.

2. Mix wheat flour, potato flour, water, salt and sugar syrup that has been melted into the bowl. Stir until smooth.

3. Arrange  mold in a pot steamer and pour the batter. Steam for about an hour. To get a nice cake, preheat the steamer pot shortly before steaming.

5. After its cooked, rolled into grated coconut that have been mixed with a little salt. Steamed palm sugar cake are ready to be served.
