Ingredients needed:1 tomato –coarsely cut

2 sprigs of curry leave

1 an onion

2 cloves of garlic

2 dried chillies

½ cup of tamarind extract

1 teaspoon of turmeric powder

2 tablespoons of black pepper

1 tablespoon of cumin

½ tablespoon of fennel seed powder

sufficient water

oil for sauté

and salt to taste

Method:1- First, pound the cumin, black pepper, fennel seed powder,garlic and shallot.

2- Mix the pounded ingredients with water, turmeric powder,salt and tamarind extract – stir evenly.

3- Next, heat the oil and then saute the dried chillies and curryleaves till fragrant.

4- Pour the mixture and tomatoes.

5- Let it boil and rasem is ready to be served
